Earth Day clean up and planting, Saturday, April 25th, 10:00 -12:00

Join us in Blackstone Park to celebrate Earth Day 2015 as part of citywide events marking this day. Rain or shine, we’ll gather on Saturday, April 25th, from

10:00am to 12:00pm at York Pond on River Road, Providence.*

We’ll be leading our traditional spring cleaning effort along the banks of the Seekonk River on River and Gulf Rd. Our special event for this year will be focused on providing a better future for Monarch butterflies. Participants will have the opportunity to plant milkweed seedlings near the pond (the essential plant for Monarchs)! You can also learn some interesting facts about Monarchs, and take home a FREE packet of milkweed seeds to do your own planting. Bring the kids!
All the supplies for the clean-up, and the tools, seedlings and seeds for planting will be provided. Snacks and beverages will also be available.
* Please take note that River Rd. will be closed to traffic on Earth Day. To reach our event, take Irving Ave. off Blackstone Boulevard and park along Irving before it reaches River Road.
