Park-Keeping

For the month of August we are presently planning two Park-Keeping sessions. Please note the earlier starting time: 9 AM.

Friday August 1, 9-10:30 AM. We will work our way along the Ridge Trail trail and the edge of the woodland, removing burning bush, bittersweet, and a few others. Tools used: loppers, clippers, shovel. The Ridge Trail is accessed from Irving Avenue, near Grotto.

Saturday, August 19, 9-10:30 AM. Project TBC.

Here’s some general information about Park-keeping.

• You are welcome to drop-in for all or part of the event. That said, if you think you can come please email cdrake@blackstoneparksconservancy.org—it helps with the planning.

• The intensity of the work varies within each event, unless otherwise noted. You can choose whether you    want lighter or heavier work!

• We recommend you wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, and bring water and bug repellent.

• We can provide gloves and tools, although it helps if you can bring some.

• We can provide tools,  if you’d like to bring your own we will use:  pruners, loppers, weeders.

• For updates, including work site maps and weather-related changes, visit our web and FB pages.
