Park-Keeping

Here is our Park-Keeping schedule  for July:

Wednesday, July 16, 9-10:30 AM. We’ll open up spaces at Blackstone Park’s ravine around new plants and remove garlic mustard from the meadow.  Tools needed: weeders, shovel, loppers, hand-pruners. We’ll meet by York Pond.

Sunday, July 27, 9-10:30 AM. We will prune shrubs, and remove knotweed and other invasive plants near York Pond and at the North Section. Meet at the signboard at the corner of Irving and River Drive.

Here’s some general information about Park-keeping.

– You are welcome to drop-in for all or part of the event. That said, if you think you can come please let me know—it helps with the planning.
– The intensity of the work varies within each event, unless otherwise noted. You can choose whether you want lighter or heavier work!
– We recommend you wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, and bring water and bug repellent.
– We can provide gloves and tools, although it helps if you can bring some.
– We can provide tools,  if you’d like to bring your own we will use:  pruners, loppers, weeders.
– For updates, including work site maps and weather-related changes, visit our web and FB pages.

For questions please email Carrie Drake.

We hope to see you soon in the parks!
