Three Saxophones Shake Off the Musical Dust

Four recent Brown graduates, Leo Major, Nolan Serbent, Ethan Klotz, and Gabe Toth, delighted us with improvisations and arrangements for three saxophones and percussion at Blackstone Field on Saturday, June 1. The music was interactive, exploratory, and playful—at times, it felt like they an intricate game was in process whose rules the audience could almost grasp.
In their final set they were joined by Srinivas Reddy, a master sitar player. The sitar changed the character of the music, providing a lead for improvisation.  To watch and listen to a short clip please click here.
