Thank you, Boulevard walkers, for all your help collecting sticks this spring! An impressive number of sticks were on the ground after the tough winter. Fortunately, an equally impressive pickup-sticks effort during Earth Month (plus a couple of weeks in May) has left the Boulevard looking terrific. Park users collected sticks and left them at specific marked spots—some people even took the time to create nest-like rings around the collection trees. Parks Department crews made several trips to take away the sticks for composting, leaving this beloved green space refreshed and easier to navigate as we move into the warmer months.
