A flock of ducks is enjoying a peaceful morning swim in the Seekonk River on Friday, February 20.
As the winter weather changes by the day so do the ducks, loons, raptors and many other species of birds which rely on the open water of the river. As waters further north freeze, more ducks and grebes may move to the river. Harsh ocean conditions may bring in sea ducks and loons. Every day is different!
Want to learn more about ducks? Join expert naturalist, ornithologist and educator Dan Berard this Sunday, February 22 for a guided walk. Children are welcome to walk with their parents. Bring your binoculars, spotting scopes, camera.
Meet at 2 PM at Blackstone Field, 1 River Drive, Providence, RI 02906. Registration strongly recommended.
