Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) Advisory

The Rhode Island Department of Health is broadcasting an alert to the current danger of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) across Rhode Island.  This dangerous disease is carried by mosquitoes and precautions include wearing clothing that covers the body, using insect repellant, and avoiding areas inhabited by mosquitoes, especially at dawn and dusk.

Mosquitoes inhabit all of Blackstone Park and are very numerous in the areas around Hockey Pond and York Pond.  When enjoying Blackstone Park, remember to protect yourself against mosquitoes and avoid the areas around our ponds at dawn and dusk.
